London atelier and Sala Capsule

London atelier and Sala Capsule

Ransom & Dunn, the furniture, lifestyle and interiors brand cofounded by Julia Ransom and Johanna Dunn, announces the opening of its first London atelier and the launch of their new design capsule, Sala, featuring metalwork by renowned jeweller and artisan Alican Icoz, bridging old world and new.

Paying homage to the visionary American designers of the 1920s and the enduring influence of classical Greek and Roman architecture, Sala is a study in Neoclassicism reimagined for the contemporary home. Echoing the glamour of the golden era, the collection embraces a luxurious palette and rich tapestry of materials - from lacquered woods to plush upholstery, all adorned with custom metalwork crafted in collaboration with Alican Icoz.

Taking its name from the SALA space in Casa Amesti, a colonial home in Monterey, California, conceived by the renowned American design collaborators, architect David Adler and interior designer Frances Elkins, the collection echoes the juxtaposition of unconventional material combinations with classical detailing and the very essence of their approach, weaving past and present.

Highlights of the collection include the Reed Side Tables, in custom made glass and wood, named after Mrs. Kersey Coates Reed’s home; and the Adler Sofa, a further homage to the renowned architect, upholstered in a tactile neutral mohair and embellished with solid bronze and tiger eye detailing handcrafted by Alican Icoz.

Envisioning the space as if stepping into a home, guests are invited to journey through the new atelier, an everevolving showcase of Ransom & Dunn’s offering, opening its doors with the new Sala collection staged alongside signature pieces from the core collection, subtly layering antiquity with collectible design.

Each of the pieces have been thoughtfully imagined to sit in conversation with one another, or stand solo - moving fluidly through the different spaces of a home. A quiet evolution of the brand’s debut Foundations Collection, which launched in 2023, Sala is the latest thread in a tapestry of bold and functional designs by the duo.

Nestled on a quiet enclave in West London, the Ransom & Dunn atelier is open by-appointment-only from June 2025. The new space will play host to a curated calendar of happenings including salons, artist residencies and more.

A creative collaboration between London and Miami based founders, Julia Ransom and Johanna Dunn, Ransom & Dunn was born from a desire to create a capsule of considered furniture and objets that make up the essential cornerstones of a home. The duo embrace a vision of balance, exploring the harmony between aesthetic and function; classic and contemporary; strength and sensuality.
